India has joined select nations operating hydrogen-powered trains with its first service. The Jind-Sonipat route was chosen for its low traffic and infrastructure availability. This 10-coach train is the longest of its kind globally. It utilizes indigenous technology and a powerful fuel-cell propulsion system. The service will eventually be extended to New Delhi.
