Bengal’s Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced plans to implement the Uniform Civil Code. A committee led by Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai is drafting the proposed laws, with public hearings scheduled across five divisions. The committee aims to gather feedback from the public and rights bodies on the matter.
