At least eight people died in massive flash floods that struck Nepal on Wednesday. A sudden rise in the Bhotekoshi River caused widespread damage near the China border. Vehicles and property were washed away in the Timure and Syafrubesi market areas. Rescue operations are underway with army personnel deployed to affected regions. The flooding was not caused by rainfall, officials confirmed.
