A source close to the investigation said the victims were part of a group of nursing students. The aircraft, which was registered in Germany, crashed into a grassy area near the runway at Nancy-Essey Aerodrome in eastern France. The crash site was located close to a residential neighbourhood and two roads, according to an AFP journalist at the scene.
