Police have suspended an assistant sub-inspector and initiated a special investigation team inquiry after disturbing footage emerged. This footage allegedly shows the officer planting drugs in the home of Mahant Kashmir Giri. Following the incident, the accused individual has been discharged from custody and departmental inquiries are ongoing. Accountability in the Punjab Police is a priority during the anti-drug campaign in the region.
