Mamata moves Supreme Court against EC decision to freeze TMC name, symbol

Mamata Banerjee has challenged the Election Commission’s decision in the Supreme Court. The poll panel froze the Trinamool Congress name and symbol for upcoming bypolls. Her faction received a new name and symbol for the October 6 elections. The rival faction was allotted a different name and symbol by the ECI. The dispute over the original party identity remains unresolved by the commission.
