On October 8, the CJP will conduct a ‘Chappal protest’ at Freedom Park in Bengaluru. The protest follows a People’s Tribunal discussing the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Civil society groups are concerned about voters being incorrectly removed from the list. They are demanding that deletions from the SIR be reversed and that the electoral rolls from before SIR be retained.
