The Supreme Court on Sunday directed authorities to prevent illegal detention of people participating in peaceful gatherings amid the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests in Delhi. It also asked the Centre to ensure that metro services operate normally and internet access remains uninterrupted, subject to law and order requirements. Sibal welcomed the court’s order in connection with the restrictions imposed in Delhi amid protests, saying it restores faith in the country’s justice system.
