Fourteen chief ministers face serious criminal cases, with Telangana’s leader having the most. Many legislators across states also have pending criminal charges against them. In Lok Sabha, 170 MPs and Rajya Sabha, 75 members face criminal cases. Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of pending criminal cases against legislators. Special courts are requested to expedite trials for these elected officials.
