Uttar Pradesh’s chief electoral officer revealed that two electoral officials and a computer operator have been implicated in voter record manipulation. A total of 10,470 voter records were altered without any supporting applications found in the offices. The manipulation was discovered after a voter noticed discrepancies in his registration details and reported them. Legal actions include criminal charges and potential disciplinary measures against the officials involved in the case.
