Tamil Nadu police have launched ‘Spectrum’ in the south zone to classify and track sexual offenders based on risk. This project categorizes around 15,000 individuals into eight color-coded groups, from high-risk ‘Red’ for gang rape accused to ‘Silver’ for juveniles. The initiative aims for targeted monitoring, especially of repeat offenders and cybercriminals, utilizing biometrics and social media surveillance to enhance public safety.
